Meet a Changemaker: Farha Naaz, Volunteer at Newham Community Project and Panel Member of Culture within Newham

Farha has been an active member of the Newham community for six years, contributing through her work with the Newham Community Project and cultural initiatives. She was a project lead for People Powered Places where she thought the skills for stitching to empower women in daily life and delivers the project successfully. She likes to support people with mental health workshops, supports employability and leadership training, and helps run a local food bank. Her focus is on improving the well-being of residents by addressing social issues like isolation, mental health, and community cohesion. Originally from India, Farha has a background in education and volunteered during the COVID-19 pandemic to support local residents. She likes to collaborates organizations who supports peoples without discrimination to amplify her impact. Her goal is to create a connected, inclusive Newham where everyone has the resources to thrive.
