Health and Race: Six Essential Seminars

People’s health and wellbeing are shaped by many factors – including their background, culture, and life experiences. In a diverse borough like Newham, understanding how ethnicity influences health is essential to creating fairer and more inclusive services for everyone.
To support this, Newham’s Public Health Team and the Race Equality Forum has launched a series of bi-monthly online health seminars. Each session focused on a different topic, aiming to build awareness and understanding of the connections between ethnicity, health, and wellbeing. These seminars explore academic research, lived experiences from local communities, and the support available across Newham.
Next seminar is about ‘Moving for health‘ on Thursday 18 September at 6-7:30pm. Residents can join online via Zoom (link on the registration form) or attend the live stream at Forest Gate Library (limited spaces – registration required).
