Meet a Changemaker: Mrs Aanchal Gumbeer, Lead Food Technology Teacher, School21

Aanchal is passionate about inspiring students to develop their love for healthy cooking by introducing them to delicious new foods from across the world. Under her leadership, Food Technology at School21 has gone from a new subject to one that has been routinely oversubscribed. She collaborates with charities and food companies to bring enriching learning experiences and run exciting projects for the students, and she invites speakers and chefs to broaden students’ understanding of healthy eating. As well as being a 50 Steps Changemaker, she has been nominated and shortlisted for the 2024 Food Educator of the Year run by Jamie Oliver’s Good School Food Awards.
