Know Your Numbers Week 2026

Know Your Numbers Week is taking place from 7-13 September, and we would be grateful if partners could help raise awareness among residents and communities.

Led by Blood Pressure UK, the campaign encourages people to take a proactive approach to their health by having their blood pressure checked. High blood pressure often has no noticeable symptoms, yet more than 1 in 4 adults in the UK are affected and many do not know they have it. In some cases, symptoms can include blurred vision, nosebleeds, shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness and headaches.

Why it matters is simple. High blood pressure is still the biggest preventable cause of death in the UK, and it’s often completely silent.

Regular blood pressure checks can help identify potential health issues early. Healthy adults aged 40 and over are recommended to have their blood pressure checked at least once every five years, while those at increased risk should have it checked more frequently, ideally once a year.
