Reflecting on Newham’s World Mental Health Day Fair

Newham came together this October to mark World Mental Health Day and shine a spotlight on mental health and wellbeing across our communities.

The World Mental Health Day Fair, held on 7 October, brought together local organisations and services supporting mental wellbeing across Newham. Residents had the opportunity to explore a marketplace of local services, hear presentations, take part in art and mindfulness activities and visit a case study gallery showcasing the mental health work being delivered by community groups.

World Mental Health Day provides an important moment to pause and think about our own mental wellbeing, check in with those around us and help make conversations about mental health part of everyday life.

While the day itself has passed, its message continues throughout the year. There are services and community organisations across Newham that can provide information and support for residents who want to look after their mental health and wellbeing. If you or someone you know could benefit from support, reaching out and finding the right help can be an important first step.
