World Suicide Prevention Week September 9-13 September 2024
This World Suicide Prevention Week, we want to remind everyone that talking about difficult feelings, including suicidal thoughts, doesn’t have to be scary. Suicide prevention is a key priority for the Public Health Team and we remain committed to supporting people in our communities that are struggling.
Suicide Prevention Week is an opportunity for us all to come together, raise awareness and take meaningful steps towards preventing suicide. There can often be warning signs before an individual takes their own life and if we know how best to support people, everyone can play a role in saving lives. Mind in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Redbridge will be running free online Suicide Prevention and Mental Health workshops for World Suicide Prevention Week.
For more information about suicide prevention or if you are struggling with how you are feeling, visit the Newham suicide prevention page or contact Samaritans on 116 123/ [email protected].
